Taj Gibson, born on June 24, 1985), whose hometown is located in Brooklyn, New York, USA, is an American professional basketball player who serves as a power forward.
Gibson played at USC, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. One of the oldest freshmen in the country, he was named to the Pac-10 freshman team in 2007 at age 21. He helped beat rival UCLA in 2008. Gibson was named to the 2009 All-Pac 10 Tournament Team by helping the Trojans win the Pacific-10 Championship at Staples Center. On June 26, 2009, in the NBA Draft, the Bulls selected Taj Gibson with the 26th overall pick in the first round. In the 2009-10 season, Taj Gibson was selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. On July 9, 2019, Gibson signed with the New York Knicks. On November 19, 2020, the Knicks waived Gibson. On January 7, 2021, Gibson renewed his contract with the Knicks.
