In 2018, Sadiq Bay decided to join Villanova University. In the 2018-2019 season (freshman season), he averaged 8.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, and was selected to the best rookie team in the Big East. In the 2019-20 season (sophomore season), he was selected as the best team in the Big East, won the Julius Irving Award, and also won the Robert V.Geasey Award, averaging 16.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Sadiq Bay was selected by the Brooklyn Nets with the 19th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Sadiq Bay maintains a stable three-pointer. What is rare is that he can make stable shots in all areas of the three-pointer. There is no particularly weak area, unlike some shooters who only like to shoot in the sweet spot. The problem is, as a 203cm swingman, he has a poor shooting percentage at the basket. He can’t get close to the frame, mid-range, or rush to the frame. He has to learn how to fight against his defender.
