Rui HACHIMURA, born on February 8, 1998), was born in Miyagi, Sendai, Japan. He is a Japanese professional basketball player who serves as a forward and currently plays for the Washington Wizards.
In 2016, Lei Hachimura joined the NCAA Gonzaga University.
In 2017, Hachimura followed Gonzaga University to reach the NCAA finals and won the runner-up. Hachimura became the first Asian player in history to enter the NCAA finals. In 2019, he won the Julius Erving Small Forward Award of the Year. In the same year, he was selected by the Wizards to enter the NBA with the 9th place in the first round.
