University attended the University of Arkansas, but due to academic problems Beverley was ineligible for the 2008-09 season and moved to Europe, signing a one-year contract with Dnipro that was “just over six figures”.
In the 2009 NBA Draft, Beverly was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 42nd overall pick in the second round and was traded to the Miami Heat, but Beverly was eventually waived.
