Monk participated in the Nike Global Challenge, the McDonald’s All-American Challenge and the Jordan Brand Classic when he was in high school. In college, he studied at the University of Kentucky. He scored 47 points in a single game and scored 30+ times many times, showing amazing scoring ability. In the 2016-17 season, he won the Jerry West (that is, the best shooting guard) award. Then gave up the last three years of college studies and participated in the NBA draft.
In 2017, he was selected by the Hornets at No. 11 in the first round and officially landed in the NBA. During the Hornets period, Monk’s scoring ability was reflected, but he was not the Hornets’ leader successor.
