Embiid didn’t start playing basketball until he was 16 years old. He studied in Rock High School in high school and helped the school team win the first state championship in history. In the 2013-14 NCAA season, he averaged 11.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in 23 minutes in 28 games. In the 2014 NBA draft, he was selected by the 76ers with the third overall pick in the first round. Multiple foot and knee injuries cost him two seasons until he returned from injury in the 2016-17 season. He contributed 20 points and 7 rebounds in his debut 2 caps. On July 10, 2017, a 5-year, $148 million maximum salary extension contract was reached with the 76ers. The combination of Embiid and Simmons helped the 76ers become a regular visitor to the playoffs. In the 2018-19 season, he helped the 76ers reach the Eastern Conference semifinals, and faced Leonard’s Raptors to the tiebreaker. In the end, Leonard completed the buzzer lore and missed the ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals. The 2019-20 season led the 76ers to the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Strong physical fitness, rich offensive skills, flexible footwork, certain three-point ability, good finishing ability, good at protecting the frame, and strong defensive ability. Embiid is one of the best long men in the current league. As far as the offensive end is concerned, he is the league’s number one center. The defensive end is not too cumbersome. His weakness is his poor organizational skills and his ability to break double-teams needs to be upgraded.
