In 2015, Ivica Zubac represented Croatia in the U19 Men’s Basketball World Championships and won the silver medal with the team. In the 2016 NBA draft, Zubac was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 32nd pick in the second round. In the 2017-18 season, due to limited playing time in the regular season, Zubac coached the South Bay Lakers, an affiliated team of the Lakers NBA Development League, many times. On January 18, 2019, in the game against the Thunder, Zubac scored 26 points to refresh his career single-game scoring record.
