Evan Mobley, born on June 18, 2001), native of San Diego, California, USA, is an American professional basketball player who serves as a center and plays for the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers.
Studying at the University of Southern California, Mobley’s father, Eric, was a former NBA player and taught him to play since he was a child. As a freshman, Mobley averaged 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 2.4 assists per game, contributing to the team on both offense and defense. In the 2021 NBA draft, Evan Mobley was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the third overall pick in the first round.
Before officially playing in the NBA, Mobley’s thin body once made people doubt whether he could play with the intensity of the NBA, but he quickly proved himself with his strength. Whether it is finishing at the basket, mid-range, and three-pointers are all Mobley’s weapons, the defensive end has continued his excellence in college, averaging nearly two blocks and one steal per game. The only thing that can stop Mobley from playing is injury.
