Draft: No. 4 pick in the first round in 2005

Paul was influenced by his father Charles Sr. since he was a child, he bought basketballs and built a small basketball court for him. In high school, Paul’s ability has surpassed his peers. He once scored 61 points in a single game and attracted national attention. Studying at Wake Forest University in college, he averaged 15.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 2.4 steals per game in his sophomore season. He showed good potential in both offensive and defensive ends and organization.

In the 2005 NBA Draft, he was selected by the New Orleans Hornets (now the Pelicans) with the 4th overall pick in the first round. In his debut season, he averaged 16.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game. The media commented on him as “a player who combines speed, strength and wisdom.” In order to pursue the championship, he transferred to multiple teams to hit the championship, but failed one after another. The Western Conference Finals became Paul’s “curse”. It was not until the Rockets career that he entered the Western Conference Finals for the first time, but God always “Just kidding”, suffered an injury in the Western Conference Finals. Until the Suns career, the 36-year-old finally entered the finals.
