He studied at Northwest Florida State University in college, and then transferred to the University of Oregon to play for the Oregon Ducks. He was selected by the Indiana Pacers with the 13th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft. Named NJCAA Player of the Year by the National Basketball Coaches Association in 2019. 2021 recipient of the Jerry Westert Award.
