Caruso studied at Texas A&M University for four years. During his senior year, he averaged 8 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals per game. This statistic was not enough for Caruso to be selected by an NBA team, and he lost the 2016 draft. Since then, he has been going around in the Development League until he moved to the Lakers, Lonzo Ball was injured, and Caruso got a chance to show himself.
As a role player, Caruso’s nickname is “Caruso”, and foreign fans like to call him “Bald Mamba”. At first these nicknames were used to mock Caruso, or with playful banter. However, when Caruso showed himself on the defensive end regardless of the cost, as well as violent dunks that did not match his physical fitness, he got cheers higher than James in Los Angeles. A tireless defensive leader who does not occupy the ball, and an activator of the team atmosphere.
