February 04 News According to NetDaily, since November, Nets guard Kyrie Irving has now donated to
Thirteen GoFundMe appeals donated at least $518,000.
In the last week alone, there have been three gifts totaling more than $85,000.
While the gifts aren’t anonymous — GoFundMe publicly posts the amount of each solicitation — Irving doesn’t make the donations public.
And NetsDaily documents them by compiling social media reports and local news outlets across the country.
It’s unclear if Irving donated himself, or if someone at his charitable foundation did it.
The gifts range from education funding to funeral expenses, to justice efforts in high-profile cases, to relief efforts, and even international protests and startup funding.
Such donations are not unusual for Owen, as he has in the past funded a new home for George Floyd’s family or a water filtration plant in arid Pakistan.
In addition, there is no indication that Owen knew the beneficiaries of the appeals or their families.
