The Charlotte Hornets officially announced today: Team forward Gordon Hayward suffered an avulsion fracture of the fifth metacarpal bone in his right hand.
The Hornets officially stated that Hayward was injured in the preseason game against the Raptors on the 14th local time.
According to a follow-up report by famous reporter Marc Stein, Hayward will enter the team’s daily injury observation list from now on.
During this offseason, Hayward signed a four-year, $120 million contract with the Hornets.
In the past three seasons, Hayward played 125 games for the Celtics, starting 71 games, averaging 13.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists, and shooting 48.4%.
