The Sublime Six



OCTOBER 4, 2008        GRANITE BAY, CALIFORNIA

Sierra-Cascade Adventure Racing Sports presents The Sublime Six - Six Hour Endurance Mountain Bike Race. The race will be held at Granite Bay in Folsom Lake State Recreation Area located at the Sierra-Nevada foothills. The 8 mile-course features fast rolling and twisting hills on mainly single- and double- track trails. The course terrain is perfect for mountain bike endurance events! Trail terrain may include sand, roots, rocks and mud. A GPS-generated map will be posted with all course details (elevation, start/finish aid station locations, etc). Be sure to register early as we are only allowed limited number of slots!

Sierra-Cascade Adventure Racing provides scenic courses, well-stocked aid stations, clearly-marked trails, GPS-measured courses, great shirt designs and racer bags, great awards, an award ceremony with dinner, and great quality raffle giveaways following the event. Awards will be given to the top three athletes and teams in the following divisions:

Solo Division

Men's Solo and Women's Solo - Racers in this division must be 16 years or older. 

Solo Division- 10 year age groups (16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+) 

Single-Speed

2- and 3-Person Team Divisions

2-Person Team Male, 2-Person Team Female, 2-Person Team Mixed 

3-person Team Male, 3-person team Female and 3-person Team Mixed

Minimum Age Requirement

All participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a release waiver. All participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present on site for the entire duration of the event. Participants must be a minimum of 14 years of age in team divisions.

Team Rules

Team racers can ride in their order of preference. Each rider on a team must complete at least one lap. One person must be designated as the Captain. Captains will be in charge of team registration and group correspondence prior and during the race if any issues or concerns may arise.

Solos- we will be here cheering for you (so go hard)

Event Fees prior to September 4, 2008 (add $10.00 after September 4)

Race Day Schedule of Events

7:00-8:45 am    Packet Pickup and Race-Day Registration Open

8:45-9:00 am    Race Announcements

9:00 am            Race Begins

3:00 pm            Race Ends-times begin to be assigned!

3:30 pm            Dinner, Awards, and Festivities Begin

Packet Pickup, Race-Day Registration/Check-In and Parking

Race packet pickup and racer bags can be picked up at Mad Cat Bicycles October 2nd and 3rd. Race  documents (waivers, etc) will be emailed to each solo racer or team captain 4 weeks prior to the event, or following your registration, if your registration falls within the 4 weeks prior to the event. This will include all details about the event. Race day pickup will also be available from 7:00 am to 8:30 am at Granite Bay of Folsom Lake SRA. Signs will be marked at the entrance directing you to the Start/Finish and Parking areas.

First Aid, Water Stations, Restrooms and Spectators

First Aid, Water and Refreshment and electrolyte-replacement stations will available at the Start/Finish, and mid-way through the course. Park restroom facilities and portable toilets will be available at the Start/Finish area. Spectators are welcome and can enjoy the best viewing of the event from the Start/Finish area.

Area Accommodations

Hotels in Folsom are available, visit the Folsom Chamber of Commerce. Camping is available at Folsom Lake SRA.

Directions

Folsom Lake State Recreation Area can be reached by either I-80 or Highway 50. Folsom Lake SRA has a $7.00 per vehicle entrance charge.  California State Park passes are also accepted at the entrance.

From I-80 take the Douglas Blvd. exit east. Folsom Lake SRA is located at the end of Douglas Blvd, about 6 miles East of I-80. Turn right at the third stop sign once in the park and follow the signs to the Granite Beach parking lot.

From Highway 50, take the Folsom Blvd exit, turn left at the stoplight. Follow Folsom Blvd which becomes Folsom-Auburn Blvd (about 7.5 miles) to Douglas Blvd. Turn right on Douglas Blvd and follow it into the Park. Turn right at the third stop sign once in the park and follow the signs to the Granite Beach parking lot.
