| Sierra-Cascade Adventure Racing Sports presents The Quick and The Dead - Six Hour Endurance Mountain Bike Race. The race will be held at Almaden Quicksilver County Park, located in South San Jose, near the town of New Almaden. Almaden Quicksilver provides spectacular natural diversity and a landmark of California mining history. The 10 mile-course features multi-use, double track and wide-track trails that loop much of the park. Trails will likely include the Randol Trail, Mine Hill and Castillero Trails. The course should provide an exciting mountain bike endurance race location! Trail terrain may include sand, roots, rocks, packed dirt trail, and mud with some great climbs and descents. Sierra-Cascade Adventure Racing Sports provides scenic courses, well-stocked aid stations, clearly-marked trails and GPS-measured courses. All participants will receive custom shirts and generous Racer bags. The overall top 3 male and female athletes will receive a complimentary single event entry into their choice of races directed by Sierra-Cascade Adventure Racing Sports. Following the race, we will have an award ceremony with dinner and quality raffle giveaways. Awards will be given to the top three athletes and teams in the following divisions: Solo Division Men's Solo and Women's Solo - Racers in this division must be 16 years or older. Solo Division- 10 year age groups (16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+) Single-Speed 2- and 3-Person Team Divisions 2-Person Team Male, 2-Person Team Female, 2-Person Team Mixed 3-Person Team Male, 3-Person Team Female and 3-Person Team Mixed Minimum Age Requirement All participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a release waiver. All participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present on site for the entire duration of the event. Participants must be a minimum of 14 years of age in team divisions. Team Rules Team racers can ride in their order of preference. Each rider on a team must complete at least one lap. One person must be designated as the captain. Captains will be in charge of team registration and group correspondence prior and during the race if any issues or concerns may arise. Solo Rules Solos- we will be here cheering for you (so go hard) Packet Pickup, Race-Day Registration/Check-In and Parking Registration is through wwww.active.com. Race documents (waivers, course rules, details, etc) will be emailed to each solo racer or team captain 4 weeks prior to the event, or following your registration, if your registration falls within the 4 weeks prior to the event. This will include all details about the event. Race day pickup will also be available from 7:00 am to 8:45 am at Start/Finish Registration Area. Signs will be marked at the entrance directing you to the Start/Finish and Parking areas. First Aid, Water Stations, Restrooms and Spectators First Aid, Water and Refreshment and electrolyte-replacement stations will available at the Start/Finish. Park restroom facilities and portable toilets will be available at the Start/Finish area. Spectators are welcome! Directions Almaden Quicksilver County Park is located south of San Jose, in the town of New Almaden. The Hacienda entrance is located at the south end of New Almaden. This entrance is accessible to all users, including bicyclists. From Almaden Expressway, proceed 3 miles along Almaden Road through the town of New Almaden to the unpaved staging area on the right. Overflow parking will be about ¼ mile away at Casa Grande. |
