check-in the morning of race day. For some events we will also have
racer check-in at a pre-determined location (i.e., Running or Bike
Shop).

What types and distances are the events?
Trail running and mountain biking  event distances vary from 5k and
up depending on the event. See event web pages for full maps,
distances and course details.

What are the trails/terrain like at the events?
The courses typically are on maintained trails, with various natural
terrain features that may include sand, roots, rocks, mud, creeks,
logs, etc. Courses offer a challenging level of technical terrain. Most
have sections that include hills, and some athletes will find it
necessary to walk, hike or push their bike on these sections.

Do courses ever change?
Since our courses are on trails, sometimes last minute changes are
required by the parks where we hold our events, or we may decide to
slightly alter a course to improve the event. However, you will be
notified of all modifications.

What athletic level do I need to be involved?
Our events offer race inclusive distances for all athletic skill levels,
from beginner to expert.

Can I walk or hike the course?
Yes, however, each obtained permit is unique to the location and
reserved time, so if you have any questions about hiking a course,
please contact us and we can let you know more details about a
particular venue.

Are the courses well marked?
Yes, we know the importance of well marked trails! All courses will be
extremely well marked. All trail crossings will be clearly marked with
arrows signs and course marshals will also be present for safety and
directions.

Can I get a course map before the race?
Maps will be posted on the website, emailed to registered athletes,
and will also be provided at the racer check-in and in race packages.

How accurate are course distances?
We mark and map trails by GPS.  With this, the courses should be
extremely accurate although not as exact as a certified road course.
For example a 10k course will be with in 1/10th of a mile of the
distance.

Where are aid stations on the courses?
Aid stations are at the Start/Finish area and will be at "on-course"
locations for water, snacks and first aid. See the map for the events to
identify the aid stations prior to the event. Determine if you will need
additional water or snacks during your run, particularly for longer
distance events.

What do I need to bring?
Be aware of the race day weather! Since we offer races in
mountainous locations, the weather may change quickly. Consider
bringing a water bottles or hydration backpack, water/wind proof
jacket, a hat, sunglasses and running gloves in your race kit, even if
you do not need them at the start of the race. Also be sure to bring
dry, warm clothing to change into following the race.

What type of shoes/footwear should I wear?
You will be more comfortable and safe in shoes designed specifically
for trail running. These types of shoes are light enough for racing,
designed for lateral support, have a sturdier tread for traction and
provide protection from changing trail terrains.

What can go with me on the courses?
wateW bottles, hydration back packs, snacks, gels, electrolyte
replacement, extra clothing, GPS/timing devices, HR monitors, really
anything you want to carry! Please bring out everything you take on
